Phoenix attended the international show in Arnhem. She gained her third veteran CAC, making her a Dutch Veteran Champion. The highlight of the day was when she was also awarded the bitch CAC and BOS. Goldens were judged by Mrs. de Ridder. This is what she wrote about Phoenix : "8 1/2 jaar, schaargebit, deze teef heeft een mooi type, is goed in haar proportie, erg vrouwelijk in hoofd en uitdrukking, middenbruin oog, good pigment, prima voorhad met zeer mooie schouderligging, goed ontwikkeld lichaam, nog sterke rugbelijning en goed geplaatste achterhand. Gaat op zeer vlot tempo door de ring".

Phoenix attended the international Easter show in Leeuwarden. She was best veteran bitch. Her brother George (Laburnum's Pur Sang) was best veteran d0g. Goldens were judged by Mrs. Sandra Lane. This is what she wrote about Phoenix : "In lovely condition. Still carrying a level topline, excellent quarters, moved very well". Thank you Henk for the lovely photo of Phoenix.

Phoenix made her come back in the showring. She attended the international show in Groningen. She was best veteran and in the main ring she was selected with the last five veterans. Goldens were judged by Mr. Eddy Webster. This is what he wrote about Phoenix : "Beautiful feminine bitch, loveliest of heads, dark eye, lovely expression, good pigment, excelleng reach of neck into well placed shoulders, firm level topline, good tailset, very nicely angulated rear, straight front, good bone, tight feet, well ribbed, short coupled. Moved with reach and drive, beautifully presented, well handled, a credit to her owner".

Great day for Lily (Laburnum's Tapestry) at the GRC show in Beckum, Germany. She was Best Of Breed out of 133 Goldens entered. Bitches were judged by Sue Ross. This is what she wrote about Lily : "Very glamourous, excellent body proportions, superb feminine head, good neat feet, level topline, good substance but with ultra femininity, eyecatching outline which she keeps on the move, strong and true on the move".

At the Dutch Golden Retriever Club championship show in Ermelo Lily (Laburnum's Tapestry) was placed 3rd in a very large open bitch class (47 entered), judged by Mr. Ron Hare. This is what he wrote about Lily : "Beautiful head and expression, good length of neck, super front angulation, good length of body, lovely quarters, nice level topline with good tailset, moved out with ease".

At the Europasieger show in Dortmund Lily (Laburnum's Tapestry) was with the last six selected from a strong open bitch class. Bitches were judged by Mrs. Catherine Collins. A good day at the Dutch Golden Retriever Club Championship show at Apeldoorn. Although Julie (Laburnum's Pretty Woman) was not placed in her first veteran class, two Laburnum puppies did very well. Julie's son Bay (Laburnum's Albion) was best puppy dog and Georgie's (Laburnum's Georgie Girl) son Dee-Jay (Laburnum's Disc Jockey) was runner up in the same class.

An excellent day at the Dutch Golden Retriever Club Championship show at Apeldoorn. Julie (Laburnum's Pretty Woman) was placed second in a very large open bitch class (more than 90 entries), her daughter Phoenix (Laburnum's Prima Donna) got an excellent in junior and Julie's granddaughter Chanel van 't Canisvliet, our 7 month old baby, competing at her first show, was placed fourth in a large puppy class. Chanel's sister Cate was placed second in the same class and two more of Julie's granddaughters out of Laburnum's Derby were placed first and third. Chanel's brother Clyde won the dog puppy class and their mother Ritzilyn Jiggery Pokery won the res. CAC at the show.

Yes, she's done it. Julie (Laburnum's Pretty Woman) is a Dutch Champion. She won the CAC/CACIB at the Maastricht Championship show (the magical fourth) and went on to be BOB. In the Gundog group Julie was placed seventh.
Her grandson Laburnum's Blue Chapter Challenge was placed third in the Junior dog class.

James (Laburnum's Double O'Seven) was first in the breeders class and went on to gain the reserve CAC.
Vaya (Laburnum's Olympic Blue) was first in the champion class and was awarded the CACIB. This together with the CACIB gained in Luxembourg 5 days earlier was enough for the title Benelux Winner. Both the bitch CAC and the dog CAC went to Scott's (Eastriding Highlander) children. For Boaike van the Iselmar it was the last point required for his Dutch Champion title and for Crow's Corner's our Jolene was the second CAC in two weeks.

A great weekend. Julie (Laburnum's Pretty Woman) gained the last CC required to become a German/VDH champion and was BOB at the international championship show at Lingen Germany. Her son James (Laburnum's Double O'Seven) was second in Open dog and was awarded the reserve CC.
On the same day Vaya (Laburnum's Olympic Blue) gained the CAC at the Goes international championship show and was also BOB and went on to be placed third in the Gundog group.

Julie (Laburnum's Pretty Woman) was 1st in the class and went on to get the CAC as best bitch. Later she was made BOB and was placed 2nd in a very strong group. A special thanks to the judges - Gerda Groeneweg, Tuus van Adrichem and Mr Hickey.
Mr Hickey also placed James (Laburnum's Double O'Seven) 1st in the breeders class dogs.
Jeanne van Beers's Vaya (Laburnum's Olympic Blue) as ever expertly handled by Piet Roefs was best English Springer Spaniel bitch and the combination of Laura van Erp and Vaya won the Junior Handling.

Although there have been no championship shows yet this year, Laburnum's Olympic Blue (Vaya) was best ESS and 4th. in the group at the Waalwijk club show. She has continued her winning ways in 2000. Laburnum's Jigsaw Puzzle was reserve bitch at the same show.
